Rosa Smith APRN-PMHNP. B.C.

Rosa Smith, MN, PMHNP, APRN-BC, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in mental health. She is the founder of Sunshine Psychiatry in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in South America, Rosa lived in Piura, Peru, before immigrating to the United States in 1990. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and has broad experience using various treatment modalities. Rosa believes offering individualized care based on the client’s needs, concerns, and preferences is important. This includes an interactive, practical, solution-focused approach to help clients resolve current challenges such as depression and anxiety. Rose founded Sunshine Psychiatry after witnessing the great disparity in psychiatric care. In her clinical experience, most practices valued quantity over quality. Patients were often in and out of visits with their providers within 15 minutes – barely any time to adequately communicate the experience of their treatment plan and see if there was room for improvement. Tracy Dzugan MSN, PMHNP-BC

Tracy Dzugan is a compassionate member of Sunshine Psychiatry. Tracy has over 30 years of experience in Internal Medicine and 10 years of experience in Psychiatry, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her specialty with Sunshine Psychiatry is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – BC (PMHNP-BC) and works with patients from all age groups. Tracy received her MSN from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus Ohio and received her PMHNP Post Master’s Certificate from Regis College, Weston, MA. Tracy has an additional master’s degree in teaching and loves educating and helping her clients.

Neesha Nicklaus

Neesha Nicklaus has proven herself to be an incredible provider for Sunshine Psychiatry.

She moved to Florida in 2021, having been born and raised in Illinois and received her nursing degree from the Mennonite College of Nursing, continuing to pursue her education by receiving her BSN from the Illinois State University.

Neesha went on to receive her MSN and Post Graduate Degree as a PMHNP from St. Thomas University, Miami, FL.

Her primary focus is on helping people obtain the quality of life we all deserve. Neesha provides comprehensive medical and psychiatric care to her patients in developing personalized care plans, analyzing patient data, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes. She has years of experience in treating dual-diagnosis patients and is also working at the New Seasons O/P MAT Program in Port Charlotte. Neesha has additional experience as the Director of Nursing, at ATA College, Fort Myers, and travelled extensively during the Pandemic and as a member of a rapid response team for disasters. We are so proud and blessed to have Neesha onboard with us.

David Smith, Certified Life Coach

David is the Practice Manager and COO of Sunshine Psychiatry. He was born in Pennsylvania and brings a variety of experiences to our practice. David is a Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy for 9 years, worked for the PA Department of Corrections, is a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT. He speaks fluent English and intermediate level of Spanish. David has successfully started and run three business and has proven himself to be a valued asset. His excellent communication skills and experience are a valued asset at our clinic. David is the first person most of our clients meet.

Rosita Smith, Office Manager

Our Office Manager, Rosita Smith, is an amazing young woman and she moved to Florida in 2015. She graduated from the Pensacola Christian College in 2024, obtaining her bachelor’s degree with a major in Business Administration and a minor in IT. Rosita loves to spend time with her fur baby, Koda, a Bernadoodle, and spending time with her friends and spending time at the beach.

Clara Smith

Clara is the Office Assistant at Sunshine Psychiatry. She recently graduated from Gateway High School and will be attending college to work on her BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurism. Her pleasent voice and demeanor are a valued part of our team and her attention to detail is an added strength. Clara truely represents the future of our clinic.

Marjorie Macias, Hispanic Liason/Life Coach

Marjorie Macias plays a very integral part of Sunshine Psychiatry. Her role with us is as Office Manager Assistant and as liaison with our valued Hispanic clients. She was born and raised in Ecuador. Marjorie obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Technological Empresarial de Guayaquil. She also received a Master’s degree from Desarrollo Dirictino y La Derazgo from the Universidad de Barcelona, and a Master’s Degree in Coaching Directino y Liderezgo from the Universidad de Barcelona. She brings over 20+ years of experience in company operations to facilitate the smooth running of our office as we continue to grow. Marjorie has two children, one living here in the US with her husband and one living in Ecuador with her granddaughter.
